It’s SNOWING here is North Carolina which means binge watching netflix and trying to figure out what to do on your winter day off. Well why not spend it relaxing and giving yourself a simple in home spa day with all the products you already have!
Everyone has heard how great coconut oil is for about everything in the beauty and health industry. I must admit it is pretty magical but one of my favorite things to use the so popular oil for is a hair mask for deep conditioning. Your hair takes a hit in the winter and you must keep it moisturized to ensure to keep those locks shiny. I use extra virgin coconut oil with a drop of lavender oil. Message the mixture into scalp and throughout your hair and leave on for at least 30 minutes, often times I leave the mask on overnight for extra conditioning.
While your mask is in why not slip into the bathtub to for a relaxing detox. A detox bath draws out toxins, decreases muscle tension, improves sleep, balances pH, and decreases stress.My favorite detox bath includes:
- 2 Cups Epsom Salt
- 1 Cup Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- Several Drop of Essential Oil ( I love wild orange)
Sit in the bath for at least 20 minutes for best detox results. After bathing rinse off in cool water and drink plenty of water.
Sugar Lip Scrub:
My lips ALWAYS get chapped in the winter and I hate it! But a simple remedy wipes it right away…a sugar lip scrub. All you need is:
- Brown Sugar
- Olive Oil
Mix together and rub onto lips. Viola silky smooth pouty lips!
